Ember Index provides an informational wildfire exposure score, map layers, and optional email alerts for California addresses. Scores are model estimates built from public data. They are not a prediction that a fire will or will not reach a property, not a safety guarantee, and not an insurance, lending, appraisal, or underwriting determination.
The service is in beta. Features, scoring methodology, data coverage, and availability may change or break without notice. Data gaps exist outside deeply covered areas, and the interface flags them where we can detect them.
Alerts depend on third-party data feeds, scheduled jobs, and email delivery, any of which can fail or be delayed. Do not treat the absence of an alert as evidence that conditions are safe. You are responsible for keeping your email address and alert threshold current.
Listed vendors and assessment providers are independent businesses. We do not perform their work, supervise it, or warrant it. Verify licensing and insurance yourself before hiring anyone. If you submit an assessment request, we share your submitted details with a provider so they can contact you.
Do not scrape, bulk-query, resell, or reverse-engineer the service, attempt to access other users’ data, or use it to build a competing dataset. Automated access is not permitted without written consent.
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for property damage, injury, or loss arising from reliance on scores, map layers, alerts, or partner referrals.
We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the current version. Questions: legal@emberindex.org. See also our privacy policy.
