Your report tells you what to fix. This page is a short list of companies that actually do those fixes — roofs and vents, defensible space, exterior sprinkler systems. We check each one's license and insurance before listing them, and we keep the list small on purpose.
You never have to use anyone here. Ember Index doesn't take a cut of your project, and a listing isn't an endorsement of any specific bid — always get more than one quote.
We look up the contractor's license with the state board and confirm active general liability and workers' comp before they appear here. If either lapses, the listing comes down.
Being in the directory means the company actually does wildfire hardening — ember-resistant vents, Class A roofs, Zone 0 clearance, exterior sprinklers — not just general remodeling.
A listing has to be earned through verification. We turn down applicants who don't pass, we keep the list short, and ranking is not for sale.
We'd rather show you nobody than show you somebody we haven't checked. In the meantime, your report's action plan lists the work in priority order, and your state contractor board's website lets you confirm any license yourself.
